失去的岁月

不像丢失的包袱
可以到失物招领处找得回来

失去的岁月
甚至不知丢失在什么地方——
有的是零零星星地消失的，
有的丢失了十年二十年，
有的丢失在喧闹的城市，
有的丢失在遥远的荒原，
有的是人潮汹涌的车站，
有的是冷冷清清的小油灯下面；

丢失了的不像是纸片，可以拣起来
倒更像一碗水投到地面
被晒干了，看不到一点影子；

时间是流动的液体——
用筛子、用网，都打捞不起；
时间不可能变成固体，
要成了化石就好了，
即使几万年也能在岩层里找见。
时间也像是气体，
像急驰的列车头上冒出的烟！

失去了的岁月好像一个朋友，
断掉了联系，经受了一些苦难，
忽然得到了消息；说他
早已离开了人间

The lost years
You don't even know how it is lost --
Some in dribs and drabs
Some for ten or twenty years
Some in a noisy city
Some on a remote wasteland
Some at a crowded station
Or some by a desolate small oil lamp...

The lost is unlike a scrap of paper you can pick up
It is more like a bowl of water thrown on the ground,
Dried in the sun and nothing left

Time is fluid --
You can't fish it with a sieve or a net
Time is unable to be solid --
If it was a fossil, it would be great
For even ages later you can still find it between the rock layers
Time is gas, too
Like the smoke snorted out from a fast running train!

The lost years is like a long lost friend
After some suffering days
Unexpectedly, there news says: He
Has passed away
