Use of Hard Copy ICS Prints at Delivery Points

A review has recently been undertaken by Customs as to the use / insistence of the presentation of hard copy prints of ICS ATD’s and screen dumps to facilitate delivery of cargo at some CTO’s / 77G’s.

As a result of this review Customs are now in the process of transitioning to a totally electronic release of cargo.




WANF 2006/52 AQIS Accreditation Course


A two-day AQIS Accreditation (Containerised Cargo Clearance) course will be held on Tuesday 28 November and Wednesday, 29 November 2006.




VNF 2006/053 Customs Cargo Compliance Program


Customs CEO Michael Carmody released the 2006 / 2007 Cargo Compliance Program at the Customs Brokers & Forwarders Council of Australia (CBFCA) National Conference on 1 September 2006.

The program has been published to explain how Customs meets its responsibilities in relation to international cargo. It details the risks Customs confronts in performing that role and the approaches it adopts in addressing them.

It also outlines the responsibilities of industry and the focus of compliance activity by industry segment.

Members would be well aware of benchmark audits on Import Declaration data. Members should also be increasingly focused on their freight forwarding cargo reporting compliance as this was a key focus in the Michael Carmody presentation.
