My life is like the summer rose 我的生命像夏天的玫瑰
That opens to the morning sky, 它对着清晨的天空开放，
But ere the shades of evening close, 但在亲近的傍晚荫凉交汇，
Is scattered on the ground--to die! 散落在大地上死得难看！
Yet on the rose's humble bed 然而在玫瑰那谦逊的苗床处
The sweetest dews of night are shed, 流出了最甜蜜的夜色甘露，
As if she wept the waste to see,-- 仿佛她看到这废料而哭泣，
But none shall weep a tear for me! 但是没有人会为我把泪挤！

Have left on Tampa's desert strand; 那遗留在塔姆巴沙漠上的困境；
Soon as the rising tide shall beat, 不久，当高涨的惊涛拍岸之际，

Thy birth was in the forest shades; 曾出生森林中以树荫为侣；
Green boughs, and glimpses of the sky, 绿色的树枝，以及闪烁不定的天空，
Were all that met thine infant eye. 全都遇见你初期幼稚的眼功。

Thy sports, thy wanderings, when a child,，你运动流浪，孩提时难解，
Were ever in the sylvan wild; 永远在多林木的荒野；
And all the beauty of the place 还有那一切处境地方的美丽
Is in thy heart and on thy face. 呈现在你的面容上，进入心地。

The twilight of the trees and rocks 树林及岩礁的微光
