一只鞋子一只鞋子地试遍。

唉！请莫将我步步紧随，

童话里的那只鞋子，也许
就流落在这里的某个鞋架上面；
仔细找一找啊，
说不定就会发现——

一只鞋子上面，坐着
一个手拿魔杖的小巫仙；
只求他呀，对我眨一眨眼，

里的“One by one”似无必要；这几句也许可写成：

When I am lonely, I like to
Hang around in the stores

或

When I am lonely, I like to
roam from one strore to another

“七千二百秒”就是 两个小时 的意思。
